Hello BDF Family! 5th grade already started this, but 3rd and 4th will also be starting these activities on their first day in my class. We will go over classroom norms and expectations first, complete a quick warm-up after signing in to our Canvas course, and then we'll go over the general concept of the 3 phases of Production in Media Arts. By the end of the class, I want students to be able to summarize what the process is and for each step within one sentence each (yes this will be the exit ticket). I already gave 5th grade more time due to us starting late and some students needing more time to understand the phases (which is fair, this is our first time directly talking about this concept as we've been using it in practice this whole time without identifying it).
When I see 5th grade again, we will wrap up the discussion, and then immediate go to our next lesson which will have something to do with "Story Arcs" in story planning, as storytelling is the cornerstone of Media Arts.
