Photography Club Theme: Fresh Focus
September Theme: Fresh Focus
Welcome to a new year of creativity and exploration! September's theme, Fresh Focus, is all about learning to see the world through a photographer's eye. Great photography isn't just about having the latest cameraβit's about noticing interesting compositions, using light intentionally, and capturing moments that tell a story. This month, challenge yourself to slow down, observe your surroundings, and think before you press the shutter. Whether you're using a smartphone or a DSLR, every great photographer starts by mastering the fundamentals.
This Month's Challenge
Capture 1β2 photographs that demonstrate strong composition using one or more of these techniques:
- Rule of Thirds β Place your subject off-center to create a more balanced image.
- Leading Lines β Use roads, fences, hallways, or other lines to guide the viewer's eye.
- Framing β Frame your subject with windows, doorways, trees, or other objects.
- Symmetry β Find balance in architecture, reflections, or patterns.
- Fill the Frame β Get closer to your subject to eliminate distractions and emphasize detail.
