Today's work is split into 3 different videos:
- OBS: Auto-Configuration Wizard (2:01)
- OBS: Scenes, Text, Screen Capture (5:35)
- OBS: Face Cam (9:58)
- Objective:
- Students will use the free OBS Studio software to record a short video.
- Warm-Up: 2026-04-16: OBS Setup
- Watch this 2 minute video and follow the directions to configure OBS Studio.
-
- Some of you will have already done this, but before we start today EVERYONE needs to have it done.
- With that done, Click SETTINGS, then OUTPUT, and make sure your recording is going to your VIDEOS folder. You won't find your work without this step!
-
- Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
- Watch this 2 minute video and follow the directions to configure OBS Studio.

- OBS: Auto-Configuration Wizard (2:01)
- OBS: Scenes, Text, Screen Capture (5:35)
- OBS: Face Cam (9:58)
- Use your new Face Cam setup to record yourself playing a video game. Keep an eye on the timer to keep your video's TOTAL run time between 3 and 5 minutes.
- If done right, you don't need to edit your video at all. You did the editing live or during pre-production!
- Hand it in here.
- Rubric:
- File Type: Work is handed in as an mkv video file. (This is the default for OBS, just don't change it.)
- Timing: Video is between 3 and 5 minutes TRT, with at least one scene change to include a title card. ("scene" as defined by OBS.)
- Subject: Video shows the student playing a game while their "face cam" appears in the corner of the video.
- Appropriateness: Submitted work should adhere to the PGCPS student code of conduct.
- This 1-Day project is not eligible for late submission or re-submission without a Lawful Absence on file in the main office.
