  1. Objective:
    • Students will improve their websites to further integrate the code they've learned so far.
  2. Warm-Up:
    1. Quiz: U2L1-9 CSS & HTML Proofreading
    2. Remember that all quizzes are open notes, BUT ONLY OPEN NOTES. You are not permitted to search elsewhere for the answers or converse with a classmate.
    3. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  3. Computer Setup
    1. There is a lot of useful software on the lab computers, but today we will only be covering the most relevant ones for this class.

        1. You will have two days to work on this assignment. Use them wisely.
        2. This planning guide  will help you, but your work will be checked in Code.org.
          1. This assignment is assessing the code and copyright, not the content. To that end, even the planning guide suggests you start with the work you did for Lesson 5.
              1. (You can even copy your code from Lesson 5 in Code.org, assuming it was formatted correctly. A mistake there is still a mistake for this assignment.)
              2. (If you didn't complete Lesson 5, then you have more work to do than those who did.)
        3. Grading Rubric (2 pts each)
          1. Using HTML
            • They use HTML to correctly add all given images to the web page, including adding the “alt” attribute for all images.
          2. Using CSS
            • They use CSS to control the basic appearance of the five (5) different elements on the page.
          3. Clean Code
            • They use white space and indentation to make the stylesheet code consistently well-formatted and easier to read.
          4. Precision and Syntax
            • There are no syntax errors in the added HTML code or the CSS code, and the page renders correctly.
          5. Respect Copyright
            • All images have been cited, and credit is given to the creators.
            • DO NOT USE THE IMAGES PROVIDED BY CODE.ORG FOR THIS LESSON!
              • The citations provided say they were made by ChatGPT. ChatGPT was trained by stealing art from creators without providing citation. Crediting an art thief is not the same thing as crediting a creator.
