CS Discoveries, 10-27-2025, Lesson 21: Peer Review

  1. THIS VIDEO REVIEWS THE MOST IMPORTANT CONTENT COVERED IN CLASS TODAY!
  2. Objective:
    1. Students will share feedback concerning their web site designs to cross-pollinate ideas and skills.
  3. Warm-Up: Feedback Prep
    1. Download this file and extract its contents into your Downloads folder.
      1. This is a collection of all websites handed in last week, organized with a site directory.
      2. This will only work if the contents are extracted. You cannot view the web pages correctly inside the zip file.
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  1. Deadlines: (Content is subject to change due to various factors including All-Major days and inclement weather days.)

    1. Warm-Ups: Due daily
    2. Week 10 Assignments Due 10-27 (3 days)
      1. Lesson 21: Peer Review
        1. You will need two things for this assignment:
          1. The zip file shared in the Warm-Up
          2. This Google Form
        2. This is a two day Assessment grade. You are expected to critique EVERY website handed in to earn 100%.
        3. Begin by critiquing YOUR OWN work.
        4. Once your work is critiqued, critique the work of the next person on the list below your name.
        5. If you reach the end of the list before you have completed all of the critiques, loop around to the top of the list and continue.
        6. Rubric:
          1. Meaningful Positive Feedback: 1 pt per critique.
            1. ("Good job!" is generic, not meaningful.)
          2. Actionable Constructive Feedback: 1 pt per critique.
            1. ("Fix your code" provides no advice for how to do that.)
            2. ("This is boring" is negative, not constructive feedback.)
          3. It is clear the person giving the critique actually looked at the website: 1 pt per critique.
  2. Exit Ticket
    1. There is no Exit Ticket this week.
    2. Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or re-submission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of the last class of the week.
