Media Arts Majors, 11-19-2024

  1. THIS VIDEO GOES OVER TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS!
  2. Objective:
    1. Students will begin the production phase of their Film Fest entries to amplify their voices.
  3. Warm-Up:
    1. 2024-11-19 Warm-Up: Ask Mr. Smith

      1. You SHOULD NOT already know the answer. (If we've covered it several times this year, you should know it.)
      2. It SHOULD NOT be a question that can easily be answered by doing a Google Search.
      3. It SHOULD be a question that relates to Media Arts.
      4. It SHOULD NOT be a question about Mr. Smith. This is not the venue for his autobiography.
      5. 6th Grade Warm-Up
      6. 7th & 8th Grade Warm-Up
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
    1. Quality-of-Work Update
      1. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. We just spent a month planning. Make it count.
    2. Announcements:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. November's Arcade Day is scheduled for Monday, November 25th.
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check Canvas - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
      3. Ineligible students should be working on a project re-submission or their next project.
      4. Arcade Days do not change project deadlines! All work is still due!

    5. Band & Orchestra: MS Winter Concert will be Dec 12th, 6:00-7:30pm.
      1. We have NOT YET been asked to record this event beyond having one or Mr. Williams' students run a camera near the stage.
      2. DO NOT SHOW UP AND EXPECT TO HELP UNLESS WE HAVE TALKED AHEAD OF TIME!
      3. IF AND WHEN we are asked, volunteers will be necessary.
      4. Wear all black, record, photograph, and/or run a projector, earn Service Learning Hours.
