These include:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Text should always be as readable as possible!<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The value (how light or dark something is) of the text should be very different from its background.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Larger text is usually better.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! (Language Arts rules for titles are different from Media Arts rules for titles.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Empty space is often wasted space.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You can add more stuff to fill the space, but sometimes, it's better to take something that's already there and make it larger.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">There are many tools we can use to make a movie poster, but today we're going to start off simple with Google Drawings.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/drawings.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/drawings.google.com\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">(If you need to find your drawing again, you can look for it in your <a class=\"inline_disabled\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Drive<\/a>.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Students are usually told to start with a screenshot of their movie, but because we started with art sourced from OpenClipArt.org we already have higher quality source material than you can get from a screenshot.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The <a class=\"inline_disabled\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1itUOxiPnLFrqvVrxahOGBdsMuFsZRhGw?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Character Art<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The <a class=\"inline_disabled\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1FDF82k7XhOZyc3mb_XEuXNwb7koPqfgx?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Background Art<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Make your background fill all of the available space.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It's OK to have it go over the edge! Just make sure you don't crop off anything important.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">With your background in place, add your text!<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">What's the movie name?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Who's the star of the movie?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Is it easy to read the text where it is? (Most students don't make their text large enough. Movie names are LARGE AND IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS!)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Now that your background and text in place, add your characters.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Again, it's OK if they go off the edge, but we do need to see enough of them to recognize them.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">With your image and text in place, download your poster as a png file by going to \"File\" --&gt; \"Download\" --&gt; \"PNG.\"<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>(That video tutorial at the top of this page shows how to do this.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Now that you have a poster downloaded, <a href=\"https:\/\/pgcps.instructure.com\/courses\/728268\/assignments\/9730392\">use the <span style=\"background-color: #fbeeb8;\">Reply <\/span>button in Canvas<\/a> to share your poster with the rest of the class!<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Remember the button for adding images looks like two mountains under a sun. We are NOT using the same button we use to upload video.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You will only have two attempts to hand this in.
