- Objective:
- Students will begin production of their Film Festival projects to reinforce the good planning that has been done so far.
- Warm-Up: 2025-11-18 Quiz: More Shot Types
- Also, if you have a shot List or script you want printed, hand it in here before Mr. Smith finishes going over today's expectations.
- If you intend to use the teleprompter, you will not need your script printed.
- Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
- Announcements:
- November's Arcade Day is scheduled for Monday, November 24th.
- You will need to have a 70% OR HIGHER in this class to be eligible.
- This does not change any deadlines.
- This will also be a T-Shirt Printing Day.
- Create & Collaborate Conference - TOMORROW!
- November 19th
- Bus Pickup Time: Buses are scheduled to pick up our group at 9:30 AM.
- Every student must bring lunch.
- There will not be food available for purchase on-site.
- Students must wear their event t-shirt and badge for entry and for group identification throughout the conference.

- Students need to be prepared to be recorded about an issue that matters to students right now. Here are some prompts to help them figure out what they want to say:
- What’s an issue that matters to students right now?
- How do students experience this issue in real life?
- What do you think adults misunderstand about this issue?
- What actions or solutions could students take to make a difference?
- How has social media or technology influenced this issue?
Who are some role models or changemakers connected to this topic?

- Darnall's Chance House Museum
- The Historians will be visiting us on January 6th.
- You will be working on this project as a group. (Mr. Smith is picking the groups.)
- Each group will be producing 3 videos, each with its own separate thumbnail image:
- 60 second video
- 30 second video
- 15 second video
- Target Audience: PG County Students & Residents (of all ages).
- Focus: Darnall’s Chance & the Community Engagement & Visitation in regards to the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution.
- Sub-Foci:
- Freedom Suits
- Signing of Declaration of Independence (Darnall's Chance was decades old at that point.)
- Where do you see your place in community?
- What does it mean to be an American?
- How do you see yourself in stories of the colonial period (Shared Experience)
- “Past Port” to History, visit all sites to win a trip to a Historic Trust location.

- If you have nothing to do, you have engineered this problem. Change your plans so you have something to do.

- 11/24, Post-Production (Arcade Day)
- You will be handing in an edit called a "Rough Cut."
- Rough Cuts are not finished, but they have all of the clips in the correct order so the general feel, content, and pacing of the video is there.
- Some placeholder shots might be included, but these will have to be swapped out in the final version.
- Most post-processing can be saved for Project 3, but if you have the time go ahead and do it.

- Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
- Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
- Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
- Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
