THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS! (80 days until the 1st day of next school year!) (Barring additional All Major Days but including the one for Field Day, we will have 3 more classes together this year.)

Today's to-do list includes the following items:

  1. Warm-Up:
    1. 2024-06-05 Warm-Up: Check your grade for this class in SchoolMax.
      1. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  2. Monthly Incentives
    1. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. June's Arcade Day is scheduled for 06/11/2024.
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check SchoolMax - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
  3. Mini-Project: Memory Book <---Students, USE THIS LINK!
      1. Complete this book (Sample template, use the link above) to document your experience in this course.
      2. Use the rubric below to ensure you earn the highest grade you can.
      3. You are allowed to change the aesthetics of this book, but focus on the rubric FIRST.
      4. This is due IN CLASS, TODAY. Do not anticipate time to work on it once you walk out of this classroom.
      5. If you have a significant amount of remaining class time, spend it improving how your project looks.

      Rubric:

25 Entry is proofread to be free from grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
5 Book cover includes the student's name. (Make it easier for Mr. Smith to assess it.)
10 Book showcases AT LEAST one project the student made for this class, including what they liked about it and what they would do to make it better if they tried again.
10 Book critiques the class, including BOTH positive and constructive feedback.
    1. As a 1-day assignment, this project is worth 50, not 100 points.
    2. It is due DURING CLASS and is NOT eligible for late submission or re-submission. Use your class time wisely.
  4. Additional Calendar Entries
    1. 6/5: Mini-Lesson (1-day project)
    2. 6/6: Chromebook Collection (Grades 6 & 7)
    3. 6/6: 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
    4. 6/7: Field Day (K-7) & Hershey Trip (8th) (All Major Day)
    5. 6/11: June Arcade Day
    6. 6/13: Light Painting
  5. Exit Ticket
    1. 2024-06-03 to 06-07 Exit Ticket
      1. 4 pts Proofread your work.
3 pts What did you accomplish in Media Arts (Tech Concepts) this week?
3 pts What did you learn in Media Arts (Tech Concepts) this week?
      2. NOTE: If you do not describe WHAT you did while working on your project, saying you worked on it is not enough information to earn credit.
    2. Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or re-submission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of the last class of the week.
