This video is the tutorial for today's lesson, though it does not go over any announcements.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will complete an extra credit assignment to improve their grade OR participate in an incentive reward for not needing to improve their grade.
  2. Warm-Up: 2026-03-27: Stinger Logo
    1. Hand in an image that says something about you. It can be a logo you've handed in before or something you found quick on OpenClipArt.org.
    2. This is an important part of today's Mini-Project, don't skip it.
    3. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  3. Announcements:
    1. BACK UP ALL WORK YOU VALUE TO GOOGLE DRIVE!
      1. A year's worth of use is filling up the internal storage of the classroom computers.
      2. Mr. Smith will be clearing those out soon, so make sure you don't lose anything!
    2. March's Arcade Day will likely be on March 27th.
      1. You will need to have a 70% OR HIGHER in this class to be eligible.
      2. This does not change any deadlines.

    1. Q3P3: Student Choice, Due 03/18
      1. 03/12, Week 5 Exit Ticket (In-Progress Check-In)
      2. 03/16, Work Day

    2. 03/27, Mini-Project 1: Logo Stinger (Arcade Day)
      1. This video explains the required steps.
      2. Rubric (25% each):
        1. Stinger is 2 seconds TRT.
        2. Stinger was exported with an intact Alpha Channel so other content can be seen behind it.
        3. Stinger includes a visual element that blocks out the background at the 1 second mark but isn't visible at 0:00 or 2:00.
        4. Everything included that was not made by the student is licensed for reuse.
      3. This 1-Day project is not eligible for late submission or re-submission without a Lawful Absence on file in the main office.
    3. 04/08, Critique Day for Week 6 Exit Ticket (Project 3)
      1. Critiques are a 15 point Assessment grade and are not eligible for re-submission or late submission.
    4. 04/10, Mini-Project: TBD
      1. This 1-Day project is not eligible for late submission or re-submission without a Lawful Absence on file in the main office.
    5. 04/14, Mini-Project: TBD
      1. This 1-Day project is not eligible for late submission or re-submission without a Lawful Absence on file in the main office.
    6. 04/16, Mini-Project: TBD
      1. This 1-Day project is not eligible for late submission or re-submission without a Lawful Absence on file in the main office.
  5. Odd Numbered Exit Ticket Rubric:
4 pts Student has shared their plan for their current project.
3 pts It is clear which project has been selected.
3 pts It is clear that the student is following the rubric for their chosen project, even if they have not yet met all of the criteria.
    1. Even numbered Exit Ticket Rubrics will vary, and are included with the project information.
    2. NOTE: Links that do not show any content and files that cannot be opened do not count towards the completion of this assignment. Sharing the work with the rest of the class is ESSENTIAL for getting a grade above a zero.
    3. Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
    4. Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be re-submitted via Canvas, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The last project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
    5. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
