Please forgive the brevity of this lesson as I recover from carpal tunnel. This video was made for a different class but the content remains the same.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will script a magic trick to prepare for a video editing lesson.
  2. Announcements:
    1. No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Monday, January 12th!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter and is far more lenient than PGCPS policy.
      2. Work owed from unexcused absences will still not be accepted.
      3. Between January 12th and the last day of the Quarter, PGCPS policy will be followed.

  4. Today's Lesson: Video 1: Magic Trick Script
      1. Grading Rubric:
        4 Pts Story has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread!
        3 Pts Story has the magician complete a single "trick" where an object appears, disappears, or turns into another object.
        3 Pts Story is appropriate for school.
      2. Today, Mr. Smith is going to show you how a "jump cut" can be used to edit video and add a special effect. (After) (Before)
      3. Think about what you could make appear, disappear, or change using this technique.
      4. Use this paper template (or the text box in Canvas if you are completing this from home) and write a short script where you are a magician performing that magic trick.
  5. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
