  1. Objective:
    1. Students will edit their 3rd project of the Quarter to take ownership of their own learning.
  2. Warm-Up: 2026-03-09: Darnall's Chance Post-Production
    1. Revisit the work you did last time for Darnall's Chance.
      (Note: A bug with the Kdenlive Shortcut has it pointing to the wrong file on multiple computers. The app is in the "bin" folder inside the "Kdenlive" folder. The shortcut can be fixed and you might end up helping with that today.)

      1. Do you have clips in place?
      2. Are the required graphics in place?
      3. Is the copyright information in place?
      4. Is your voice-over or chroma keyed insert in place?
      5. Do you have subtitles?
    2. Export your work as it is so far and hand it in via Canvas. (As no project should be over 60 seconds this should not take long.)
    3. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  3. Announcements:
    1. March's Arcade Day is not yet scheduled. If we have it (4 students forgot to hand in Project 2 when they had the February Arcade Day to do it), it will be the week before Spring Break.
      1. You will need to have a 70% OR HIGHER in this class to be eligible.
      2. This does not change any deadlines.
      3. This will also be a T-Shirt Printing Day.
    2. NPR Student Podcast Challenge for 2026
      1. The 2026 edition of the Student Podcast Challenge will open on Jan. 5 and close on June 5. But if you'd like to be considered for their special America 250 prize, the deadline is May 1.
    3. Darnall's Chance House Museum
      1. EVERYONE: Your first draft is due THIS MONTH. You do not have the luxury of waiting to get started. Use Kdenlive (You will only need this link if you're editing on a home computer) for this project, so the files can be shared with the historians.
      2. TEAM LEADS: Your team likely has voice-overs or chroma key work to record. Encourage them to get started.

    4. Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
    5. Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
    6. Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
    7. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.

  6. Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or re-submission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of the last class of the week.
