THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!

Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will create scripts to show how sound effects can be used to reinforce storytelling.
  2. Announcements:
    1. No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Monday, January 12th!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter and is far more lenient than PGCPS policy.
      2. Work owed from unexcused absences will still not be accepted.
      3. Between January 12th and the last day of the Quarter, PGCPS policy will be followed.
  3. Today's Quiz:

    Audio Quiz 1

  4. Previous Lessons: Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3, Audio 4, Audio 5, Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, Video 4, Video 5, Video 6
  5. Today's Lesson: Audio 3: 3 Sound Story Script
    1. Grading Rubric:
4 Pts Story has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread!
3 Pts Story uses 3 of the 6 sound effects from this list: [cat meow], [rim shot], [applause], [crowd laugh], [crash], & [small dog bark].
3 Pts Story and sound effects fit well together.
    2. Listen to the 6 sounds in this Google Drive folder.
    3. Sound effects can be used to tell a story. Which of these recordings sound like they could be part of a great adventure?
    4. Stories often have more than one sound to help build the scene. Which of these sounds could be used together?
    5. Today, I would like you to write a short story that could use three of these six sounds.
      1. You can write on paper if you want, but Mr. Smith would prefer that you use Canvas.
      2. It can be a 3 sentence story again if you want, but it doesn't have to be that exact number.
      3. During our next class, we'll use an audio editor to combine the sound effects with our stories to make them more awesome!
      4. When you are writing your story, include the sound effect between brackets [like this].
          1. Example:
            1. I stood in front of the audience and told them the best joke ever. [crowd laugh]
            2. Everybody loved it! [applause]
            3. I made so much money telling jokes that I bought my cat the fancy cat food. [cat meow]
        1. Template:
Hello, my name is _ and this is my 3 sound story.
      1. ___ [  ]
      2. ___ [  ]
      3. ___ [  ]
      Thank you for listening.
    6. Proofread your script! Typos will affect your grade.
  1. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
