THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!

Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will script a new audio recording to think about how sound effects can enhance a story.
  2. Announcements:
    1. No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Monday, January 12th!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter and is far more lenient than PGCPS policy.
      2. Work owed from unexcused absences will still not be accepted.
      3. Between January 12th and the last day of the Quarter, PGCPS policy will be followed.
  3. Previous Lessons: Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3, Audio 4, Audio 5, Audio 6
  4. Today's Lesson: Audio 3: 3 Sound Story Script
    1. Grading Rubric:
4 Points Story has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread!
3 Points Story uses 3 of the 6 sound effects from this list: [Truck Horn], [Bird Honk], [Door Squeak], [Footsteps], [Thunder], & [Car Engine]
3 Points Story and sound effects fit well together.
    2. Listen to the 6 sounds in this Google Drive folder.
    3. Sound effects can be used to tell a story. Which of these recordings sound like they could be part of a great adventure?
    4. Stories often have more than one sound to help build the scene. Which of these sounds could be used together?
    5. Today, I would like you to write a short story that could use three of these six sounds. (You can do this on paper, if you want.)
      1. It can be a 3 sentence story again if you want, but it doesn't have to be that exact number.
      2. During our next class, we'll use WeVideo to combine the sound effects with our stories to make them more awesome!
      3. When you are writing your story, include the sound effect between brackets [like this].
          1. Example:
I was driving to work in my car. [Car Engine]
I had to stop because some birds were sitting in the middle of the street! [Bird Honk]
They honked at me, so I honked back. [Truck Horn]
          2. Template:
Hello, my name is _ and this is my 3 sound story.
        1. ___ [  ]
        2. ___ [  ]
        3. ___ [  ]
        Thank you for listening.
      1. Proofread your script! Typos will affect your grade.
  1. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
