THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!

Our 1st Quarter will focus on media creation, while or 2nd Quarter will focus more on coding.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will be able to:
      1. Construct a precise sequence of instructions for dragging and dropping.
  2. Announcements:
    1. No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Monday, January 12th!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter and is far more lenient than PGCPS policy.
      2. Work owed from unexcused absences will still not be accepted.
      3. Between January 12th and the last day of the Quarter, PGCPS policy will be followed.
  3. Vocabulary:
    1. Algorithm - A list of steps to finish a task.
    2. Drag - Click your mouse button and hold as you move the mouse pointer to a new location
    3. Drop - Release your mouse button to "let go" of an item that you are dragging
  4. Today's Lesson: Code.org Lesson 2: Learn to Drag and Drop
    1. We will begin by using Clever to log into Code.org.
      1. Only Code.org logins done through Clever will show the work that has been assigned.
    2. The only lesson that should be visible is the one for today: Lesson 2. It will have 12 Levels to complete, though each of them is relatively short in scope.
    3. Grading Rubric:
      1. Students earn 1 point for each level turned BRIGHT GREEN by completing it.
      2. Pale green Levels are incomplete and therefore not counted.
      3. CHALLENGE Levels are counted as Extra Credit.
      4. FREE PLAY Levels are rewards for completing the work and are not graded.
    4. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
