TODAY'S VIDEO OVERVIEW IS HERE!
- Objective:
- Students will finalize their plans and combine recordings from the Darnall's Chance trip to create client requested promotional videos.
- Warm-Up:
- Warm-Up 2025-05-14: Client Work
- Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
- Announcements:
- We are still not recording in the hallway for this project.
- "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
- May's Arcade Day is scheduled for Thursday, May 29th! THIS WILL ALSO BE A T-SHIRT PRINTING DAY!
- Check Synergy - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
- Arcade Days do not change project deadlines! All work is still due!

- Q4 Project Deadlines:
- Q4P2: Student Choice, Due 05/06
- Re-Submits Due May 22!
- Q4P3: Student Choice, Due 05/20
- We are replacing Project 3 with the Darnall's Chance project. Some students have not been taking it seriously as they have not seen it on the list of things with a deadline. You now have a deadline.
- Rubric:
- 25%: Minimum of 3 videos submitted, each between 30-60 seconds TRT.
- 25%: Each video includes a title and credits superimposed over the content. (Title and credits should NOT extend the TRT.)
- 25%: Each video showcases one of the cooler things (according to the on-screen talent) found at Darnall's Chance, with relevant visuals and dialogue spoken by the student, NOT JUST text on the screen. No text-to-speech should be used.
- 25%: The historians at Darnall's Chance approve the videos submitted. Requested changes are completed.
- Resources: Slideshow, Q&A, Student Photos & Video, Clips from Williams' Class
- Remember to show off!
- The Darnall's Chance historians use Canva for some things, because they have not had a year of classes to build up their digital production skills. If they can make the same project during their lunch break, you should have made something better.
- May 14, Pre-Production (8th grade NY Trip)
- Finalize scripts.
- Find photos/video from the collection of shots taken during the trip. (IF ANOTHER STUDENT IS IN THE SHOT, DON'T USE IT! If you're the on-screen talent for that shot, it's yours!)
- Import what you've selected into your editor of choice (likely WeVideo).
- Time permitting, move on to production.
- May 16, Production (3 Hour Early Dismissal)
- Record anything additional (voice-over, video for chroma key) needed for your videos.
- May 20, Post-Production
- Complete the editing started on the 14th. Give everything a once-over to make sure nothing is missed. Export and hand in.

- Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
- Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
- Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
- Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
- Exit Ticket
- Exit Ticket: Q4 Week 5
- Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or re-submission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of the last class of the week.
