THIS VIDEO GOES OVER THE EXPECTATIONS FOR TODAY!

Our 2nd semester will focus more on coding than media creation, though we will have other lessons sprinkled in.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will be able to:
      • Differentiate between positive, constructive, and negative feedback.
  2. Announcements:
    1. The last day for late work was Thursday, March 20th!

      1. Students have been informed of this deadline every day we've had class this Quarter.
      2. All work given between now and April 3rd is due in class.
    2. Previous Lessons: Lesson 2, Lesson 3, Lesson 4 & Quiz 1, Lesson 5, Lesson 6, Lesson 7, Lesson 8, Lesson 9, Lesson 10, Lesson 11, Lesson 13, Luanti Stages, Photography
  3. Today's Lesson: Critiques
    1. Vocabulary:
      1. Art
      2. Positive Criticism
      3. Constructive Criticism
      4. Negative Criticism
    2. Today, we're critiquing our photos from our last class.
    3. Important things to remember:
      1. This was our SECOND photography lesson, and that one didn't give us a lot of time. Not everyone is coming to this with expert camera skills.
      2. EVERY photographer takes photos that don't work out. Every single one. The focus for today is not to point out everything that didn't work. It's to point out what did, and how things could be improved.
        1. Negative feedback puts people down. Constructive feedback helps them up. Let's be constructive.
      3. Not every photo is art.
        1. Is it a photo of someone else's art?
        2. What IS art?
    4. The process for today:
      1. We will look through the photos (sorted by camera) for ones we like and want to talk about.
      2. We will have an in-class discussion about what worked and how things can be improved.
      3. We will talk about the definition of art - THIS HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS!
        1. Artificial - A person made it.
        2. Drawing, Painting, & Sculpture - Focused on Visual Art, leaves out a lot of what we call art today.
        3. Something Creative - A more welcoming definition, but what is creativity?
      4. At the end of class, you have some questions to answer.
  4. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
