THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!
Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.
Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.
- Objective:
- Students will script a new audio recording to think about how sound effects can enhance a story.
- Announcements:
- No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Thursday, October 17th!
- This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter. That time is needed to ensure all late work handed in before then is graded in a timely fashion.
- Audio 1 is graded! If you are unhappy with that grade, submit your 2nd attempt ASAP!
- Audio 2 is mostly graded! (I am still waiting on a few of you to hand in your work!)
- No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Thursday, October 17th!
- Today's Lesson:
- Today's Lesson:
- Audio 3: 6 Sound Story Script
- Grading Rubric:
4 Points Story has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread! 3 Points Story uses 3 of the 6 sound effects from this list: [cat meow], [rim shot], [applause], [crowd laugh], [crash], & [small dog bark]. 3 Points Story and sound effects fit well together. - Listen to the 6 sounds in this Google Drive folder.
- Sound effects can be used to tell a story. Which of these recordings sound like they could be part of a great adventure?
- Stories often have more than one sound to help build the scene. Which of these sounds could be used together?
- Today, I would like you to write a short story that could use three of these six sounds.
- It can be a 3 sentence story again if you want, but it doesn't have to be that exact number.
- During our next class, we'll use an audio editor to combine the sound effects with our stories to make them more awesome!
- When you are writing your story, include the sound effect between brackets [like this].
- Example:
- I stood in front of the audience and told them the best joke ever. [crowd laugh]. Everybody loved it! [applause]I made so much money telling jokes that I bought my cat the fancy cat food. [cat meow]
- Example:
- To begin writing your story, use the handout provided by Mr. Smith. (You may also use the text box in Canvas, but the paper version is preferred.)
- Proofread your script! Typos will affect your grade.
- Today's Lesson:
- You will only have two attempts to hand this in. If your first attempt does not earn a 10/10 you will receive feedback on how to improve it.
- This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
