- Today's Lesson: Photography
- Today, Mr. Smith will have a camera for each of you to use.
- To take a photo, first hold the camera in BOTH hands. This helps to steady the camera.
- Make sure your feet are a shoulder's width apart. This helps to steady YOU while you steady the camera.
- Use the LCD panel to see where the camera is pointed. Find something interesting to photograph. That will be your subject, or focal point.
- Have the camera focus on your subject by pushing the shutter partway down. You may see the image shift slightly.
- Press the shutter button all the way down to take the photo.
- You may have to wait for the screen to turn black and then light back up again. DON'T MOVE THE CAMERA until it's done.
- When pressing the shutter button, be careful not to push the whole camera down. You'll end up taking a picture of something else!
- We're going to take a lot of photos and look over them later. Don't spend all of your time looking at the photos now, that means you aren't taking more photos!
- Cameras tend to have timers that turn them off if you aren't using them. If your camera turns off, Mr. Smith will know you weren't taking photos.
- Today, Mr. Smith will have a camera for each of you to use.
- This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
