Announcements:
- The last day for any late work is Friday, October 16th!
- All work not completed by then will remain a zero.
- Any work assigned after then is due the same day.
Objective:
- Students will create visual artworks of their own design to learn how to properly use computer input devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.) and the interfaces of a variety of visual arts programs and websites.
1:30-1:40: Start of Class
- Students will enter and go to the front of the class, where Mr. Smith will walk them through the assignment for the day.
- Students will find their assigned seats and be walked through the process for logging into the computers. (Students who were in Mr. Smith's room last year may remember how to do this, but reminders are good for everyone.)
1:40-2:20: Instruction & Student Work
- Students will work on a Graphic Design Lesson.
- Rubric, Objective, Standards, and links can be found here.
- Today we are using the Sketchpad website.
- Students are being asked to draw whatever they would like today as they try out Sketchpad's features. The goal is not to be perfect (no one can be), the goal is to try and experiment.
- Additional instruction will be given as "wonderings," and suggestions based on what students have tried so far. As their choices cannot be predicted those details cannot be included here.
2:20-2:30: End of Class
- Students will showcase their work to their peers before shutting down their computers and lining up to return to their classroom.
Missed Assignment?
- Parents: If you are reading this because your child was absent and they need to make up the work, have them use the site linked above to draw a picture before saving it (or a screenshot of it) and sending it to Mr. Smith via ClassDojo to earn credit.
