  1. TODAY'S VIDEO OVERVIEW IS HERE!
  2. Objective:
    1. Students will record their projects to showcase their interests.
  3. Warm-Up:
    1. Warm-Up 2025-04-10:

    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  4. Announcements:
    1. FILM FESTIVAL VOTING CLOSES APRIL 11th!
      1. Everyone can vote for the People's Choice Awards!
      2. Previous years, people were allowed to vote once per day. This year, everyone is allowed to vote once per Gmail address.
        1. This includes friends and family!
    2. We are still not recording in the hallway for this project.
      1. The behavior of majors while we had guests in the building let me know that you're still not ready to be in the hall. Reflect on this and plan accordingly. "But I need to..." is an admission that you did not plan around this problem.
    3. What makes your project YOURS, and not just like everyone else's project?
      1. Other people have solved this problem.
      2. Solomon Sloan, a former major, solved this problem with an interview project.
    4. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
      1. April's Arcade day is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30th! THIS WILL ALSO BE A T-SHIRT PRINTING DAY!
    5. Check Synergy - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
    6. Arcade Days do not change project deadlines! All work is still due!
  5. Darnall's Chance House Museum
    1. Field Trip May 1st (Possibly May 8th), We will be taking 10 students TOTAL, the names have not been selected. Impress us.
      1. The historians have shared their slideshow with us.
      2. What do you want to showcase?
      3. Do you have a script?
      4. Do you have a plan that isn't a slideshow?
  6. Grandparents' Day April 11th
    1. Every major will be showcasing something.
    2. We need a video to show off Media Arts.
    3. We have our "ad" that was made 1st Quarter, but for this we need something that is less "We are telling you what we do" and more "We are showing you what we do."
    4. This will need to include K-8, not just majors.
    5. If you have "nothing to do," Start planning this.
  7. Film Festival Awards Ceremony May 7th
    1. We will be taking 20 students. (That's less than 1/2 of the majors. This number is determined by the venue, not us.)
    2. Dress code is "Dress to impress."
    3. Students with works in the show should have a short acceptance speech ready, just in case. (No, I do not know who will win. I don't even know who is nominated.)

  10. Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
  11. Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
  12. Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
  13. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
