THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY! (It's from a different class but covers the same content.)

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will begin their animations to better understand the benefits of key frames and duplication in video editing.
  2. Announcements:
    1. No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Monday, January 12th!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter and is far more lenient than PGCPS policy.
      2. Work owed from unexcused absences will still not be accepted.
      3. Between January 12th and the last day of the Quarter, PGCPS policy will be followed.
  3. Previous Lessons: Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3, Audio 4, Audio 5, Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, Video 4, Video 5, Video 6
  4. Today's Quiz: Video Quiz 1 (We skipped this on the 19th, we should really get this done.)

  5. Today's Lesson: Video 4: Animation Edit (Part 1 of 2)
    1. Today, we are going to continue using WeVideo.
      1. You will need the following things:
        1. Your storyboard from Video 2
        2. Your recording from Video 3
        3. The Character Art
        4. The Background Art
    2. Listen to your recording!
      1. Note: If your recording is not in this folder, then you were not in class for our previous lesson and need to make up Video 3.
      2. Make sure when Lesson 3 wrapped up, your recording was set up in a way where you would be happy with it.
    3. Download your two (2) chosen animals and one (1) chosen background.
      1. (You may still have them in your Downloads folder from when you were working on your storyboard.)
      2. Import these three (3) images into WeVideo. Along with your recording from Video Lesson 3, this is all you will need today.
    4. Follow Mr. Smith's directions for moving the characters into position, then cutting and/or copying the image clip to create the illusion of movement.
      1. Ideally the cuts should happen AT LEAST after each sentence, but in Mr. Smith's example they were moved slightly more often to set a particular tone.
    5. Move the clips so they're in the right order!
    6. Delete any fragments or flubs that don't belong in your finished video!
    7. Use the text box in Canvas and share something you noticed when editing today.
    8. DO NOT HAND IN A VIDEO TODAY! ONLY A SENTENCE! (You'll be handing in your video next class.)
  6. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
