Media Arts Majors, 03-25-2026 – Q3P4 Critique Day

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will critique their last project of the Quarter to take ownership of their own learning.
  2. Warm-Up: 2026-03-25: Lessons Learned
    1. Take a moment to list media arts skills you have now that you've learned or improved upon since your first day in this major.
    2. Using bullet points or a numbered list for your formatting is recommended.
    3. This is an opportunity to show off, make use of it. A short list implies you were not paying attention.
    4. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  3. Announcements:
    1. BACK UP ALL WORK YOU VALUE TO GOOGLE DRIVE!
      1. Not ensuring you have access to your work outside of this room us a recipe for disaster.
      2. Some students have voiced that they've lost all of their work. YOU WERE TOLD TO BACK UP YOUR WORK SO THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN.
      3. As an added bonus, you'll be able to access your content from home.
    2. March's Arcade Day is cancelled for previously discussed reasons, plus students ignoring Mr. Williams on the 9th.
    3. Darnall's Chance House Museum
      1. The work handed in is being delivered to the historians. They will almost certainly have feedback that will need to be addressed.

    4. Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
    5. Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
    6. Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
    7. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
