5th Grade, McCrae, 03-21 – Luanti Stages

THIS VIDEO GOES OVER THE EXPECTATIONS FOR TODAY!

Our 2nd semester will focus more on coding than media creation, though we will have other lessons sprinkled in.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will be able to:
      • Demonstrate the ability to manipulate objects in a 3D digital space.
      • Make constructive, aesthetic choices while building 3D digital objects.
  1. Today's Lesson: Luanti Stages
    1. Today's in-class work will be done using Luanti. Mr. Smith will help you get set up if you aren't already.
      1. Today's lesson will begin in a flat world with Creative Mode enabled.
      2. Each of you will need to claim a space for future activities that is 10 blocks wide and 10 blocks long.
      3. Use any block to build your "stage." Make sure it is not so close to another student that your stages touch or overlap!
      4. With your stage built, complete the "impossible task" of creating a circle on your stage. ("Impossible" because a circle cannot be made out of squares, but do your best to get as close as you can.)
      5. Is your circle done? Great! Now turn it into a house.
  2. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
