Media Arts Majors, 11-07-2024

  1. THIS VIDEO GOES OVER TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS!
  2. Objective:
    1. Students will revise scripts and create storyboards to better prepare for the film festival.
  3. Warm-Up:
    1. 2024-11-07 Warm-Up: Script & Storyboard Progress

      1. 6th Grade Warm-Up
      2. 7th & 8th Grade Warm-Up
      3. Your script must be a Google Doc or photo.
      4. Your storyboard should be a photo of your hand-drawn work.
        1. Students creating digital storyboards at the last minute were warned against this LAST time.
      5. Google Docs will be printed to make it easier for you to get today's feedback.
      6. If your script is not a Google Doc it will be harder to print.
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
    1. Project Suggestions
      1. Is there something you want to do but can't find a project that fits that framework already? Use this form to suggest a project!
    2. Quality-of-Work Update
      1. Be the change you want to see. If you have strong feelings about a topic, it shows in the quality of your work because you care more about the result.
    3. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. November's Arcade Day is scheduled for Monday, November 25th.
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check Canvas - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
      3. Ineligible students should be working on a project re-submission or their next project.
      4. Arcade Days do not change project deadlines! All work is still due!
    4. I have written a computer buying guide, because I am frequently asked about what's worth buying.Announcements
    5. The FILM FEST GUIDELINES have been released!
      1. This is an edited version of the official guidelines. Links to hand the videos in have been removed as only teachers are allowed to do that part.

The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
    5. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
  5. 11-04-2024 - 11-07-2024 Exit Ticket
