Welcome to your 1st Media Arts class of the year!
THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!
Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.
Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.
- Objective:
- Students will set their goals for the 2024-2025 School Year and script them for an audio project to see how Media Arts can relate to things outside of the computer lab.
- Announcements:
- No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Friday, January 10th!
- This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter. That time is needed to ensure all late work handed in before then is graded in a timely fashion.
- No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Friday, January 10th!
- Today's Lesson: Audio 1: Goal Setting
-
- Grading Rubric:
4 Points Script has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread! 3 Points Script is designed for an audio only format. 3 Points Script includes an introduction of the student, what they want to accomplish this school year, and how they intend to do it. - To begin, you need to have some idea of what you want to do this year. Possible goals include:
- Getting accepted into a particular major.
- Learning specific skills.
- Completing a specific project or activity.
- Winning a specific award (don't make up an award).
- You aren't limited to just these 4 goal types, but consider them if you're having trouble thinking of a starting point.
- Goals should NOT be:
- Getting good grades. (That might be a side effect of achieving a goal, but for this assignment it should not be the main task.)
- Next, you'll need to write out your script.
- Your audience is only going to hear you, not see you, so you need to verbally share what your goal is and how you intend to achieve it.
- You will have paper to write this out in class, but if you are working from home, look for the Audio 1 assignment in Canvas to complete your script.
- Proofread your sentences and press the button to hand them in.

-
Hello, my name is ____. This school year, I hope to ___. I want to do this because ___. I'll start by ___. Thank you for listening.
- You will only have two attempts to hand this in. If your first attempt does not earn a 10/10 you will receive feedback on how to improve it.
- This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
