4th Grade, Curtis, 10-03 – Typing 1

THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!

Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

  1. Objective:
    1. Students will play games to improve their typing skills.
  2. Announcements:
    1. No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Thursday, October 17th!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter. That time is needed to ensure all late work handed in before then is graded in a timely fashion.
    2. Previous lessons: Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3, Audio 4, Audio 5, Video 1, Video 2, Video 3
  3. Today's Lesson:
    1. Typing 1: Getting Started
      1. If you are missing any of the lessons above, get your work in ASAP. No one should be starting from scratch so it should take longer to log into Canvas than it does to hand in what's missing.
      2. Use this link to join Typing.com (LOG IN WITH your PGCPS GOOGLE!)
        1. This will add you to my Typing.com 4th grade class.
        2. Go to the Learn the Keys lessons and begin them.
          1. These may be easy for you, but that means you should be able to go through them quickly to get to something trickier.
          2. Complete the FIRST SIX (6) "Learn the Keys" lessons. (They're labeled "Starting Out.") You will need to pass each lesson before moving on to the next.
          3. If you logged in with the link above, I will be able to track your progress. You will earn a grade based on how much you've completed.
          4. If you finish all 6, go for extra credit and see how many you can complete before class ends.
  4. You will only have two attempts to hand this in. If your first attempt does not earn a 10/10 you will receive feedback on how to improve it.
  5. This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
