THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!
Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.
Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.
- Objective:
- Students will storyboard a magic trick to prepare for a video editing lesson.
- Announcements:
- No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Thursday, October 17th!
- This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of the Quarter. That time is needed to ensure all late work handed in before then is graded in a timely fashion.
- Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3, Audio 4, and Audio 5 are past due!
- Video 1 is past due!
- No late work for this Quarter will be accepted after Thursday, October 17th!
- Today's Lesson:
- Video 2: Magic Trick Storyboard
- Grading Rubric:
4 Points Storyboard dialogue has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors and is in the boxes BELOW the drawings. 3 Points Storyboard has the magician complete a single "trick" where an object appears, disappears, or turns into another object. 3 Points Storyboard has the same setting and actor in each panel. - Today, Mr. Smith is going to show you how to make a paper storyboard. There are lots of templates that can be used (we've even used Google Slides), but the simplest solution is to just fold a sheet of paper a few times.
- Note in the animated gif above that Mr. Smith is drawing stick figures.
- This is fine (and expected), so long as their position in frame is correct.
- If we aren't going to record your characters yelling from down the hall, we likely won't see them from the waist down.
- We SHOULD see if they're on the left or right side of the screen, which way they're facing, and be able to tell basic body posture (arm movements, etc.).
- This assignment has been added to Canvas, but this is primarily for students completing this work remotely who need to upload a photo of their storyboard. This is a paper assignment.
- Grading Rubric:
- Video 2: Magic Trick Storyboard
- You will only have two attempts to hand this in. If your first attempt does not earn a 10/10 you will receive feedback on how to improve it.
- This is an IN-CLASS assignment, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work by the end of class!
