Media Arts Majors, 09-25-2024

  1. THIS VIDEO GOES OVER THE EXPECTATIONS FOR TODAY!
  2. Objective:
    1. Students will edit their recordings about what they've learned about copyright and creative commons to ensure they do not end up on the news for the wrong reasons.
  3. Warm-Up:
    1. 2024-09-25 Warm-Up: Talent & Crew 1

      1. 6th Grade Warm-Up
      2. 7th & 8th Grade Warm-Up
      3. Define the following terms. Be prepared to differentiate between them on our next quiz.
        1. Talent (Note: There are different definitions for "Talent." In this case, I'm looking for the one that describes a group of people working on a video production.)
        2. Crew (Note: There are different definitions for "Crew." In this case, I'm looking for the one that describes a group of people working on a video production.)
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  4. Monthly Incentives
    1. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. September's Arcade Day is scheduled for Friday, September 27th. (THIS FRIDAY!)
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check Canvas - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
      3. Ineligible students should be working on a project re-submission or their next project.
      4. Arcade Days do not change project deadlines! All work is still due!
  5. Q1 Project deadlines:

    6. Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
    7. Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
    8. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
  6. 09-23-2024 - 09-27-2024 Exit Ticket
    1. Exit Tickets "go live" at 2:35pm on the last A Day of the week and should be completed within those 10 minutes.

      2. 7th-8th Grade, hand in here.
    2. 4 pts Proofread your work.
3 pts What did you accomplish in Media Arts this week?
3 pts What did you learn in Media Arts this week?
    3. NOTE: If you do not describe WHAT you did while working on your project, saying you worked on it is not enough information to earn credit.
    4. Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or re-submission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of the last class of the week.
