- UPDATE: DUE TO SCHEDULING ADJUSTMENTS, THIS WILL BE AN "ALL MAJOR WEEK!" THIS CHANGE WAS MADE IN THE MORNING OF 8-27-2024 SO PLEASE FORGIVE THE RESULTS OF A RUSHED PLAN.
- THIS VIDEO GOES OVER THE EXPECTATIONS FOR TODAY!
- Objective:
- Students will complete the planning process for their first project to be best prepared for recording their projects tomorrow.
- Warm-Up:
- Find the computer that has your name on it and log into your account.
- Mr. Smith can manage password concerns. DO NOT share passwords with other students!
- (You will need this link for an important step. It will not work outside of the PGCPS intranet, but if it doesn't work, you probably don't need it.)
- Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
- Find the computer that has your name on it and log into your account.
- Monthly Incentives
- Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
- "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
- August's Arcade Days are scheduled for 08/29 & 08/30.
- Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
- Check Canvas - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
- Ineligible students should be working on a project re-submission or their next project.
- Arcade Days do not change project deadlines! All work is still due!

- Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
- Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
- Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas. The 4th project of each Quarter is not eligible for re-submission due to its proximity to the end of the Quarter!
- Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
- Q1P1: Digital Citizenship 1: Netiquette
- Exit Ticket
- This week's exit ticket will not "go live" today, because how are you going to say what you did all week when it's only Tuesday?
-
4 pts Proofread your work. 3 pts What did you accomplish in Media Arts this week? 3 pts What did you learn in Media Arts this week? - NOTE: If you do not describe WHAT you did while working on your project, saying you worked on it is not enough information to earn credit.
- Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or re-submission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of the last class of the week.
