THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS! (100 days until the 1st day of next school year!) (We have only 7 classes together before the end of this course.)
Today's Agenda:

  1. Announcements:
    1. No late work for 4th Quarter will be accepted after Friday, May 31st!
      1. This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of 4th Quarter. That time is needed to ensure all late work handed in before then is graded in a timely fashion.
      2. Lesson 2 was due on 4/2. Lesson 3 was due on 4/5. Lesson 4 was due on 4/11. Lesson 5 was due on 4/16. Lesson 7 was due on 4/19. Lesson 8 was due on 4/24. Lesson 9 was due on 4/29. Lesson 10 was due on 5/07. Lesson 11 was due on 5/10. Lesson 13 was due on 5/16.
  2. Today's Lesson: Code.org Lesson Lesson 13: Outbreak

    1. Today's lesson will be completed in Code.org, which you should log into through Clever.
      1. There is a known bug where sometimes it will log you in through Google instead.
      2. You'll know this has happened because you won't see our class (51-Elem Media Arts 2023-2024) listed near the bottom of your Code.org Dashboard.
      3. If this happens, I cannot track your progress and you'll get a zero for the lesson.
        1. To fix this, log out of Code.org and log back in through Clever.
      4. Remember to not start today's lesson until all previous lessons have been completed! Each lesson builds up the skills needed for the next one.
      1. This lesson has fourteen (14) Levels. (I will frequently call them "Bubbles" as that's what I've been calling them with my younger students.)
        1. You will need to complete (Perfect) thirteen (13) levels to earn 100%.
        2. While not labeled as such in the image above, Level 14 is Free Play and will not be graded.
        3. Levels 10-12 are a linked Mini-Project that has you building a simulation one part at a time. As you complete each part, DO NOT delete or change that code when you go on to the next part or you will have to start over.
    3. All assignments this Quarter are IN CLASS work, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work.
      1. Anything not done in class can be completed outside of class, but at that point it is past due MAKE-UP work!
