THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS! (109 days until the 1st day of next school year!)
Today's Agenda:
- Announcements:
- No late work for 4th Quarter will be accepted after Friday, May 31st!
- This deadline is 2 weeks before the end of 4th Quarter. That time is needed to ensure all late work handed in before then is graded in a timely fashion.
- Lesson 2 was due on 4/2. Lesson 3 was due on 4/5. Lesson 4 was due on 4/11. Lesson 5 was due on 4/16. Lesson 7 was due on 4/19. Lesson 8 was due on 4/24. Lesson 9 was due on 4/29. Lesson 10 was due on 5/07.

- Today's Lesson: Code.org Lesson 10: Counting with Variables
- Today's lesson will be completed in Code.org, which you should log into through Clever.
- There is a known bug where sometimes it will log you in through Google instead.
- You'll know this has happened because you won't see our class (51-Elem Media Arts 2023-2024) listed near the bottom of your Code.org Dashboard.
- If this happens, I cannot track your progress and you'll get a zero for the lesson.
- To fix this, log out of Code.org and log back in through Clever.
- Remember to not start today's lesson until all previous lessons have been completed! Each lesson builds up the skills needed for the next one.
-
- This lesson has eleven (11) Levels. (I will frequently call them "Bubbles" as that's what I've been calling them with my younger students.)
- The first two are "Prediction" Levels, where you are shown code and asked to guess what it does before running the code.
- Levels 3-5 are skill building exercises where you will learn how to modify number variables.
- Level 6 is a demo that shows the code in action.
- Levels 7-11 are a linked Mini-Project (meaning you should NOT delete code or you have to start over at Level 7) where you demonstrate what you've learned
- This lesson has eleven (11) Levels. (I will frequently call them "Bubbles" as that's what I've been calling them with my younger students.)
- All assignments this Quarter are IN CLASS work, NOT HOMEWORK. Please stay on task to complete this work.
- Anything not done in class can be completed outside of class, but at that point it is past due MAKE-UP work!
