Media Arts Majors, 02-14-2024

(No video today, I am feeling under the weather and have several 5th grade evaluations to complete.)

  1. Warm-Up: 
    1. 2024-02-14 Warm-Up Quiz: Creative Commons Vocab 1
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or re-submission.
  2. Monthly Incentives
    1. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. February's Arcade Day is scheduled for 02/29/2024.
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check SchoolMax - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
    2. Arts Team Incentive:
      1. Has been rescheduled for Friday, February 16th.
        1. (All Major Day, Performance Schedule.)
        2. While this will still be an all major day, the incentive has again been postponed due to scheduling issues.
      2. I will not award ClassDojo points for any day where I find candy wrappers or trash on the floor after students leave. On Wednesday, this included chewed gum.
      3. I am comfortable with none of my majors participating in the school-wide incentive day if this is how you decide to take care of our classroom.

      3. 02-14: Post-Production (Hand in Project 2 today!)
      4. 02-16: "Put Out Fires" Day (Art Team Incentive Day)
      5. 02-21: Critique Day
  5. Q3 Project 3
    1. Student Choice, Due 03-01
  6. Q3 Project 4
    1. Student Choice, Due 03-15
  7. Q4 Project deadlines:
    1. Q4P1: 04-19
    2. Q4P2: 05-03
    3. Q4P3: 05-17
    4. Q4P4: 05-31
  8. Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
  9. Feedback from the critiques is provided in the Canvas assignment for that project.
  10. Projects are eligible for re-submission, but only once. They must be resubmitted using the same form as before, and no later than 10 days after feedback has been shared with them in Canvas.
  11. Deadlines for future projects are not adjusted. Students are encouraged to not put off starting Project 4 because they've decided to work on redoing Project 3 from scratch.
