THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS!

Today's to-do list includes the following items:

  1. Warm-Up: 
    1. 2024-01-18 Warm-Up: Talent & Crew 3
      1. Define the following professions in regards to what they do during a video production:
        1. Makeup Artist
        2. Script Writer
        3. Sound Technician
        4. Storyboard Artist
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or resubmission.
  2. Scheduling
    1. Take a moment to check your schedule in SchoolMax to see your 3rd Quarter elective. A small number of students were given the same class twice. (Example: Given the Drama elective for Q1 and again for Q3.) Make sure this didn't happen to you.
  3. Monthly Incentives
    1. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. January's Arcade Day is scheduled for 01/18/2024.
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check SchoolMax - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
  4. Q2 Project 3
      1. Project 3 and its critiques have all been graded. No time remains to resubmit for a higher grade.
    2. Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
      1. Projects are eligible for resubmission, but only once and with a limited window. These details are covered in the syllabus.
      2. The last project of any Quarter is almost always too close to the end of the grading window to be eligible for resubmission.
    3. Critiques are a 30 point Assessment grade and are not eligible for resubmission or late submission.
  5. Q2 Project 4
    1. Due to the extension of the Project 3 deadline, there will be NO Project 4 this Quarter. Make your Project 3 count!
  6. Mini-Lesson: Animated Title Card
    1. This project is MANDATORY for anyone with an average below 70%.
    2. This project is OPTIONAL for anyone with an average of 70% or higher.
    3. This is due IN CLASS TODAY! Do not intend to slack off, thinking you can finish it this evening. (Most who do this forget to complete it at home.)
    4. Unlike all previous projects, this will be uploaded directly to Canvas.
  7. Exit Ticket
    1. 2024-01-18 Exit Ticket
      1. 4 pts Proofread your work.
        3 pts What did you accomplish in Media Arts (Tech Concepts) today?
        3 pts What did you learn in Media Arts (Tech Concepts) today?
      2. NOTE: If you do not describe WHAT you did while working on your project, saying you worked on it is not enough information to earn credit.
    2. Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or resubmission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of class.
