    1. All previous assignments are past due, and the window for make-up work closed on Friday, January 5th.
    2. Any late work handed in between now and the end of the Quarter will need to be for excused absences, and not be later than the number of days missed (as dictated by PGCPS policy).
  2. Today's Lesson:
    1. Graphic Design 1: Movie Poster
    2. Grading Rubric:
      4 Points Image Text has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread!
      3 Points Picture included relates to the text.
      3 Points Little to no unused (negative) space exists in the image.
      1. Today, Mr. Smith is going to show you some basics about making a movie poster. These include:
        1. Text should always be as readable as possible!
          1. The value (how light or dark something is) of the text should be very different from its background.
          2. Larger text is usually better.
          3. TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! (You will almost never be told to do this, but for this project it's a good idea.)
        2. Empty space is often wasted space.
          1. You can add more stuff to fill the space, but sometimes, it's better to take something that's already there and make it larger.
      2. There are many tools we can use to make a movie poster, but today we're going to start off simple with Google Drawings.

        2. (If you need to find your drawing again, you can look for it in your Google Drive.)
      3. You will need a screenshot of a dramatic moment in your movie.

        2. Don't have a dramatic moment to screenshot? Pose for one now!
      4. Once you've added your picture, make sure it fills as much space as possible.
        1. It's OK to have it go over the edge! Just make sure you don't crop off anything important.
      5. With your picture in place, add your text!
        1. What's the movie name?
        2. Who's the star of the movie?
        3. Is it easy to read the text where it is?
      6. With your image and text in place, download your poster as a png file!
      7. Now that you have a poster downloaded, use the text box in Canvas to hand in your poster!

  3. No late work is being accepted after 01-05-2024 (2 weeks before the end of 2nd Quarter), so that there is time to grade all work before the Report Card window closes.
