THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS TODAY'S EXPECTATIONS!

Today's to-do list includes the following items:

  1. Warm-Up: 
    1. Complete this quiz on the "Constructive Feedback" submitted on Monday.
    2. Warm-Ups are usually a 5 point Independent Work grade if a written response is expected, or a 5 point Assessment grade if the Warm-Up is a quiz. They are due at the start of class and not eligible for late submission or resubmission.
  2. Monthly Incentives
    1. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. December's Arcade Day is scheduled for 12/21/2023.
      2. Students remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned that month for grades or behavior, though a student who missed out from low grades can earn back their Arcade Day privileges if they bring their grade back up.
        1. Check SchoolMax - if your avg is 70% or above, you're probably eligible.
  3. Q2 Project 2
    1. Re-submissions Due 12-22

    1. Student Choice Project
    2. Due 12-22
      1. 12-13: Pre-Production Due
      2. 12-15:  (Foulois Friday, CA time will not be spent in class.)
      3. 12-19:  (All Major Day)
      4. 12-21: Arcade Day & Extra Work Day
      5. 01-03: Production Due
      6. 01-05: Post-Production Due (Hand in Project 3 today!)
      7. 01-09: "Put Out Fires" Day (Last day to hand in Project 3!)
      8. 01-11: Critique Day
    3. With the two days being removed from our schedule, we need to decide as a class how to move forward.
      1. Understand that Production and Post-Production will be done outside of class so that Project 3 is DONE before Winter Break.
        1. Project 4 is started with enough time to critique it before the last day of Q2.
      2. Add a week to Project 3's timeline, finishing it AFTER Winter Break.
        1. Not enough time will remain to do Project 4, making any low grades for Projects 1, 2, and 3 take a larger chunk out of averages.
        2. An overwhelming percentage of students voted for this 2nd option.
    4. Projects are 100 point Classwork grades, and are not eligible for late submission.
      1. Projects are eligible for resubmission, but only once and with a limited window. These details are covered in the syllabus.
    5. Critiques are a 30 point Assessment grade and are not eligible for resubmission or late submission.

      2. NOTE: If you do not describe WHAT you did while working on your project, saying you worked on it is not enough information to earn credit.
    2. Exit Tickets are always 10 point Classwork grades and not eligible for late submission or resubmission. They are due during the last 10 minutes of class.
