5th Grade, Green’s Homeroom, 11-03 (Asynchronous Day)

Welcome to your first Media Arts class of the year!

THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DAY!

Our 1st semester will focus on media creation, while or 2nd semester will focus more on coding.

Regardless of the lesson, FouloisTech.info should be your destination every time you come into class. This space will be used to provide announcements, lessons, and other resources.

Today's Agenda:

  1. Today's Lesson
    1. Audio 1: Goal Setting
      1. Grading Rubric:
4 Points Script has very few spelling and/or grammatical errors. Proofread!
3 Points Script is designed for an audio only format.
3 Points Script includes an introduction of the student, what they want to accomplish this school year, and how they intend to do it.
      2. To begin, you need to have some idea of what you want to do this year. Possible goals include:
        1. Getting accepted into a particular major.
        2. Learning specific skills.
        3. Completing a specific project or activity.
        4. Winning a specific award (don't make up an award).
      3. You aren't limited to just these 4 goal types, but consider them if you're having trouble thinking of a starting point.
      4. Goals should NOT be:
        1. Getting good grades. (That might be a side effect of achieving a goal, but for this assignment it should not be the main task.)
      5. Next, you'll need to write out your script.
        1. Your audience is only going to hear you, not see you, so you need to verbally share what your goal is and how you intend to achieve it.
        2. Look for the Audio 1 assignment in Canvas, then use the included text box to complete your script.
        3. Proofread your sentences and press the button to hand them in.
    2. You will only have two attempts to hand this in. If your first attempt does not earn a 10/10 you will receive feedback on how to improve it.
      1. No attempts will be accepted after 01-05-2024 (2 weeks before the end of 2nd Quarter) so that there is time to grade all work before the Report Card window closes.
