5th Grade, Holmes’ Homeroom, 8-31

Welcome to your second Media Arts class of the year!

THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS CLASS!

Today's Agenda:

  1. Announcements
    1. Audio Lesson 1 is now PAST DUE. You can still hand it in, but we only meet for 15 days this Quarter and do not have the time to pause instruction.
  2. Today's Lesson
    1. Begin by completing Audio 1: Goal Setting. Without that, this new lesson cannot be started.
  3. Audio 2: Record & Edit
      1. Grading Rubric:
4 Points Recording is free of misspoken words and "verbal filler" like "um," "uh," and so on.
3 Points Recording is saved in an .mp3 audio format.
3 Points Recording includes an introduction of the student, what they want to accomplish this school year, and how they intend to do it.
    1. Last class, you were given the task of writing a script that introduces you and a goal you have for this year. Today, we're going to record it.
      1. Be mindful of your classmates. There are many of you in this room who will be recording at the same time.
      2. Have your script ready to go before you record! Mr. Smith will not provide a microphone until you show him a script in Canvas!
      3. Read through it a few times first to make sure you've practiced it.
      4. Use the link provided in the Canvas instructions to set up your WeVideo account for this year!
        1. Use these video tutorials to record and edit your work:
          1. WeVideo - Recording (2:39)
          2. WeVideo - Cuts (1:56)
          3. WeVideo - Export (5:45)

        2. REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE EXPORTING AUDIO ONLY! This will not be a video project.
        3. Additional directions for how to use WeVideo and upload your work provided in Canvas.
