Media Arts Majors, 01-23-2023

Today's to-do list includes the following items:

  1. Warm-Up: 
    1. Grade 6 (P4A)
    2. Grades 7&8 (P3A)
  2. Monthly Incentives
    1. Arts Department Incentive:
      1. Art Bucks are handed out to acknowledge good choices.
      2. Art Bucks for Q3 will be in a slightly different format. Students hoarding them have missed opportunities.
      3. WEAR BLACK FOR TOMORROW'S INCENTIVE DAY!
      4. The 4 students who did not hand in any Art Bucks will have this assignment to do. (It will unlock on the 24th.)
    2. Monthly Media Arts Incentive:
      1. 30 minute "Arcade Day" at the end of the month.
        1. January's Arcade Day is scheduled for 01/23/2023.
      2. Remain eligible unless a Notice of Concern has been earned.
        1. Check SchoolMax - if your avg is 70% or above, you're eligible.
          1. (2 7th graders are not eligible. Everyone else has a 70% or higher.)
        2. If you are not eligible today, this is your assignment:
          1. Grade 6 (P4A)
          2. Grades 7&8 (P3A)
  3. Q3 Project 1
    1. Due Friday, February 3rd!
    2. Can be any non-core project you have not already completed, OR the Q3 Core project.
      1. The Copyright and Creative Commons project is the required Core assignment for 3rd Quarter.
      2. Can only be the "Build Your Own Rubric" project if your rubric is approved BEFORE January 24th.
      3. If you write in your exit ticket that you were working on your rubric, but you never actually show me your draft IN CLASS today, I will assume you were not telling the truth.
    3. IF YOUR PROJECT ISN'T ON THE LIST, YOU ARE WORKING TOWARDS A ZERO!
  4. Other News
    1. Class material consolidation is ongoing.
      1. Eventually all lessons and announcements will be shared on FouloisTech.info so parents will not need logins to see expectations and deadlines. 
      2. Cross-posting does not seem to be supported in Canvas when the source is a non-Canvas platform.
        1. This will still be the primary location for class announcements.
      3. Student work will still require a login to be seen, either because it's in Google Drive or on Canvas.
      4. When an assignment is posted to FouloisTech.info, it will include links to where to hand it in for BOTH Canvas classes. Be sure to click the correct link or you won't have access.
  5. Exit Ticket
    1. Grade 6 (P4A) (No exit ticket today.)
    2. Grades 7&8 (P3A) (No exit ticket today.)
    3. Please do not write generic answers like "Today I worked on my project and I learned some new vocabulary." If you can't convince me you learned and did something new, you won't earn the points.
