Tech Concepts, work due 5-22-2020

This is the public facing summary of my Tech Concepts assignments due by 1:00pm on 5-22-2020. The video is being cross-posted to Google Classroom, where you should complete your assignment.

Talking Points

  1. Scheduling

    1. New projects will be posted the first day of instruction every week. For most weeks, that's Monday.
      1. It has become clear that most students are not watching the videos.
      2. All work will be graded with the assumption that you watched the videos to gain clarity.
      3. TL;DR: Watch the videos.
    2. Check-In Assignments are posted every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. They are due the day they are posted.
      1. This is how "attendance" is being taken.
      2. Not completing the Check-In assignments could result in an "Incomplete" for 4th Quarter.
      3. Not completing the Check-In assignments does result in parent/guardian notification.
    3. Office Hours are from 9am to 1pm every instructional day.
      1. Comment in Google Classroom
        1. This is for STUDENTS ONLY. Parents should use email instead, as accessing Google Classroom will allow them to see content shared by other students, and that is a privacy concern.
        2. Private comments in Classroom have always been turned on.
        3. Class-wide comments have been turned on, but POST RESPONSIBLY as other students will be able to see and respond to what you share. This can be turned off for students who abuse the privilege.

        1. Emails from student accounts will be assumed to be from students.
      3. I will monitor both Google Classroom and my email during those hours to address any concerns or requests for clarification.
    4. Students waiting until the day a project is due to declare that they do not understand a facet of the assignment will not be afforded additional leniency. You are given two weeks for each assignment for a reason.

  2. Assignment due 5-22

    1. Your fourth Q4 project (Knolling Still Life) is assigned to be handed in by 1:00pm on Friday, 5-22-2020.
      1. You are certainly allowed to start on this early, but don't forget your third project is due THIS Friday so make sure you get that handed in before you start the next thing.
      2. At the time you are seeing this, your first, second, and third projects are PAST DUE. I will not be grading late submissions.
    2. Your work will involve following the directions on this worksheet. A copy of it has been created in Google Classroom for you.
      1. The worksheet requires you to answer several questions in the worksheet itself.
      2. You are expected to write as if a teacher is your target audience. Proofread your responses before handing them in.
        1. Answers that appear to be written below a 6th grade reading level will lose points! Proofread your work!
      3. The worksheet requires you to create a still life photo using specific criteria explained in the video and worksheet.
