Media Arts, Work for 4/24 – 5/1/2020

This is the public facing summary of my Media Arts assignments for 4-24 through 5-1. The video is being cross-posted to Google Classroom, where you should complete it.

Talking Points

    1. Scheduling

      1. New projects will be posted the first day of instruction every week. For most weeks, that's Monday.
      2. Office Hours are from 9am to 1pm every instructional day.
        1. Comment in Google Classroom
          1. This is for STUDENTS ONLY. Parents should use email instead, as accessing Google Classroom will allow them to see content shared by other students, and that is a privacy concern.
          2. Private comments in Classroom have always been turned on.
          3. Class-wide comments have been turned on, but POST RESPONSIBLY as other students will be able to see and respond to what you share. This can be turned off for students who abuse the privilege.

          1. Emails from student accounts will be assumed to be from students.
        3. I will monitor both Google Classroom and my email during those hours to address any concerns or requests for clarification.

  2. Assignment For 4-24 Through 5-1

    1. Your second Q4 project (Distance Learning Tutorial) is assigned to be worked on between this Friday, 4-24 and next Friday, 5-1.
      1. You are certainly allowed to start on this early, but don't forget your first project is due THIS Friday so make sure you get that handed in before you start the next thing.
    2. Your work will involve following the directions on this worksheet. A copy of it has been created in Google Classroom for you.
      1. The worksheet requires you to answer several questions in the worksheet itself.
      2. You are expected to write as if a teacher is your target audience. Proofread your responses before handing them in.
      3. The worksheet requires you to find and briefly critique a short (under 4 minutes) tutorial video.
      4. The worksheet then requires you to roughly script and then record your own tutorial video.
        1. Create your video with the idea that it will be shared with other Foulois staff and students, because it very likely WILL be.
