Tech Concepts, Smith, 4-23-2019 (Day 6)

Warm-Up:

  1. Show the difference between CONSTRUCTIVE and NEGATIVE criticism by giving examples of each addressing the same thing.
  2. If you attended the 8th grade college trip, you have THIS WARM-UP time to hand in your proposed rubric.
    1. Once we start going over the agenda it will be too late.

        1. ► 25% Project addresses one of the rules found in the following subheadings of Student Rights & Responsibilities, Section 10
          1. Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs)
          2. Use of Technology
          3. Social Media
        2. ► 25% 2-5 min video TRT or a 4-6 slide Google Slide Presentation.
        3. ► 25% Title & dialogue supports the main idea of the video or presentation.
        4. ► 25% Credits cannot be longer than 30 seconds OR last slide of Google Slide presentation is reserved for works cited.

      2. If your rubric was not approved, you must adhere to the following rubric for your assignment:►25%: Work is a video between 3-5 minutes Total Run Time (TRT).
        ►25%: Video includes a PROPERLY CITED song from the YouTube Audio Library.
        ►25%: Video topic is on how technology relates to the student's major.
        ►25%: Video includes still photos taken by the student.
  5. Google Classroom
    1. Work that is not in a journal OR uploaded on time to the correct location in Google Classroom WILL NOT BE graded.
  6. Independent Work
    1. Project 1
      1. Critique Day
        1. DUE TODAY!
        2. Assessment score, 1 point per critique.
        3. 14 projects were handed in, your score will be out of 14 points.
        4. Critique EACH of the projects, including scoring, positive criticism, & constructive criticism.
        5. Negative criticism will earn 0 points.
        6. Filler (spaces, etc.) will earn 0 points.
        7. Critiques are not eligible for resubmission.
    2. Project 2
      1. You may begin working on Project 2 if you finish your critiques during class.
    3. Homework Review:
      1. 4-1: In your journal, describe the kind of project you would like to work on after this first assignment.
      2. 4-3: Using your homework from 4-1 as a starting point, create a single, OBJECTIVE (not subjective) line item for a rubric for that project. Write it in your journal.
      3. 4-5: Create a line item for your Project 2 rubric that focuses on the subject of your next project but is DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT from your previous line item. Write the new rubric line item and your line item from 4-3 (with any revisions) together in your journal.
      4. 4-9: Create a line item for your rubric that adds something special to your project (green screen, filters, animation, etc.). Be specific, then write this new requirement in your journal along with revised versions of the lines from 4-5 and 4-3.
      5. 4-11: Have a relaxing Spring Break!
  7. HOMEWORK
    1. 4-23: Complete all 14 critiques TONIGHT.
