Warm-Up:

  • List the steps that YOU, personally, still need to take to complete your logo design.

Objective:

  • Students will refine and complete artistic work. (Anchor Standard 3) to show understanding of the methods and techniques incorporated in the media of logo creation.

      1. 2-22: Project 2 (Logo/T-Shirt Design)

      4. 3-28: End of 3rd Quarter
    3. Q3 Project 2: Logo/T-Shirt Design
      1. Rubric:
        ► 25% Logo is monochromatic.
        ► 25% Logo must include "Media Arts" or an image that represents Media Arts.
        ► 25% Logo must include 1-3 modified public domain images.
        ► 25% No illegible text may be used.
      2. Inkscape
        1. Set to 8.5"x11" (Landscape OR Portrait)
        2. Use one color that contrasts well vs. the white background.
        3. Keep stencil cutting in mind when creating your design.
          1. "Mask" areas out with white, borderless shapes and/or a wide stroke set to white.
          2. Try to avoid thin areas, either of white (tear easily) OR your chosen color (harder to push ink through).
  2. Independent Work
    1. Homework/Journal checks
      1. 2-14: On the 19th (our next class) radio host Joe Clair will be visiting to talk about what he does for a living. Write three (3) intelligent questions for you to ask him.

      1. Logo creation in Inkscape
  3. HOMEWORK
    1. 2-21: What should our next project be? Write this answer in a way that you think will convince the rest of the class to agree with you.
