Objective:

• Students will perceive & analyze artistic work (Anchor Standard 7) to get a deeper understanding of digital media and how it can be used.

Today's Agenda

1. Guided Instruction
   1. Guest Speaker: Mr. McCrea
   2. Warm-Up Review
   3. Homework Review
      1. Give three examples of constructive criticism. (Ex: "I think if you recorded with the camera closer to the actor, the background noise might not drown them out as much.")
   4. Critique Day!
      1. Critique form shared via Google Classroom
      2. ONLY work handed in via Google Classroom will be critiqued.
      3. You are allowed & encouraged to critique your own project.
      4. Each critique has 3 parts:
         1. Score
            1. Point choices are limited to avoid nitpicking.
               1. 25 points: Completed rubric item
               2. 15 points: Attempted to complete rubric item, came close.
               3. 5 points: Little evidence that rubric item was attempted.
               4. You CANNOT give a zero.
            2. You earn a score for giving an honest score.
         2. Positive Criticism
            1. GOOD: "I liked how the camera zoomed in on the character's face to show their reaction."
            2. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: "I liked the camera work."
         3. Constructive Criticism
            1. GOOD: "The text might be easier to read with a darker background behind the bright text that you used."
            2. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: "Fix the colors."
      5. 1 point per completed (score, good positive & constructive criticism) critique.
      6. -1 point for completing a critique for a project that was not presented or handed in. (Academic Dishonesty)
      7. Critiques will be anonymized and shared with the project creators.
   5. Project: Policies & Procedures Review
      • ► 25% Project addresses at least one of the rules regarding personal electronic devices, use of technology, and/or social media as found in the Student Handbook.*
      • ►25% Project incorporates the media of the student's major.
      • ►25%  Rules covered should be clearly stated. [Class Choice]
      • ►25%  Project is a video that is 1:30-3:00 Total Run Time (TRT) OR is a Google Slide Presentation that is 6-20 slides. [Class Choice]

   6. Project 2: Coding
      • ► 25% Project includes bug-free code created by the student, rather than copy/pasted from other sources.
      • ►25% Project contains a minimum of 25 lines of code. [Class Choice]
      • ►25% Project is a 1:00-2:30  minute song (Sonic-Pi) or interactive (Scratch). [Class Choice]
      • ►25% Project contains characters. [Class Choice]
