3. 8th Grade: Suitland Auditions
   1. Recommendation forms due January 26th
      1. If you want me to fill one out for you, you need to let me know ASAP. I am NOT responsible if you wait until the last minute to ask.
   2. Audition Workshop
      1. Thursday January 25th.
4. Film Festival
   1. January 24th
   2. Start time is 7pm
      1. This is standard for all performances.
      2. Show up BEFORE 7 or you will miss things that affect your grade.
      3. Leave early and you will miss things that affect your grade.
   3. You WILL be expected to assess student work during the show.
      1. Everyone attending will have this opportunity, but Media Arts Majors will use a different form as your work will be graded.

      2. This will be your first homework grade for 3rd Quarter.
      3. We will build this rubric in class.
   3. Work Time
      1. Movie Poster
         1. 1. Look at movie posters and identify common themes.
            2. Create a movie poster for your Film Festival entry using GIMP or Inkscape (both are installed on the school computers).
            3. Rubric:
               1. ► Poster is sized for VERTICAL 8.5"x11" printer paper.
               2. ►Poster includes imagery from the Film Festival entry.
               3. ►Poster includes a bold, easy to read title.
               4. ►Poster includes the names of the director and lead cast members.
      2. If (AND ONLY IF) you are done with everything you can do in class, I need title cards for each video. They need to include the following things:
         1. 1280x720 PNG image
         2. Movie Name
         3. Director's Name
         4. Director's Grade Level (6th, 7th, or 8th)
         5. Film Festival Category
         6. Text should NOT go all the way to the edge. I will be adding something to the border.
