Agenda:

  1. Series Video 18
    1. Due TODAY!
    2. This will be your last official Series Video of the year.
    3. If you want it to be a montage "recap of previous episodes," that's cool, but make sure you've handed in enough videos with varied content to do that. (If every one of your videos is just a "talking head," don't do this.)
    4. I encourage you to continue making videos. (You're a Media Arts major, it's assumed you enjoy making videos regardless of them being graded.) Focus on what's fun for you to make.
  2. Critique Expectations Letter
    1. Due Today!
    2. Focusing on positive expectations (Saying "I will..." vs. "I won't...") will result in a shorter, easier to write letter. This is not about word count.
      1. Do NOT list specific behaviors seen on Wednesday. This is not meant to be a record of who was misbehaving.
    3. This should be an "easy A" for everyone who completes it.
      1. Everyone is expected to do this assignment because everyone can benefit from an additional 20 points in SchoolMax, regardless of their behavior on Wednesday.
      2. This is also meant to reinforce and provide written proof that you know what is expected of you during a critique.
  3. Digital Music
    1. Use Sonic-Pi (easier) or PICO-8 (harder) to create a song.
      1. This project will be live in Google Classroom next week, but you should start on it today.
      2. You will likely need to find a tutorial to help you with your program of choice.
        1. Sonic-Pi has a tutorial built into the "Help" window."
      3. Record VIDEO of you playing the song.
        1. OBS is a good choice for this. (Tutorial)
        2. You do not need to use OBS, but you DO need to follow the rubric. #4 is important.
      4. Rubric
        1. Song should be between 2-3 minutes long.
        2. Song should have a clear beginning, middle & end.
          1. Repeating only the same notes for 2 minutes is lazy.
        3. Song should consist of multiple instruments.
        4. Video should show the code you're using while the song is playing.
