  1. Homework Critiques
    1. Some of you do not remember that I check time stamps.
      1. Reviewing a 10 minute movie in 5 minutes or less earns you a zero.
      2. Doing this for three or more videos earns you a zero for the entire assessment.
    2. Some of you do not remember that I do not accept "non-answer" critiques. "I liked the topic" earns you a zero unless you go on to explain WHAT you liked about it. "I didn't like anything" also earns a zero, especially if you were being asked to say something positive.
    3. Earning a zero on a review does not always prevent your comments from being shared with the video's creator.
  2. Series Video 15
    1. Due Friday.
  3. Network News Storyboard.
    1. Due Friday.
    2. You will have had 3 weeks to work on this. It should look like you spent 3 weeks working on it.
    3. With the number of shots required, you will need more than two pages to earn an A.
  4. Video Project
    1. Due Friday.
    2. Do NOT hand in a video if you do not have a qualifying storyboard. It will earn a zero.
    3. ALL possible storyboards for the Video Project are past due. If you don't have a qualifying storyboard yet, you aren't going to have one for THIS video. Do the Network News assignment instead.
  5.  For those who will say "I can't work on my video here...."
    1. Are you in 8th grade? If so, do you have a project that Ms. Hogue has asked you to do?
    2. I am accepting up to 3 GIMP tutorial review assignments.
      1. ►A link to the tutorial you used. (This is a citation. Leaving it out means I can't grade anything.)
        ►Your cool GIMP creation, exported as a png file.
        ►Your short review of the tutorial.
  6. Final
    1. 100 point assessment grade.
      1. All assessments averaged together are 20% of your 4th Quarter grade.
      2. Your critiques have been 20 point assessments.
      3. Your Network News Storyboard or Video project is a 100 point assessment. It's the only other big assessment grade for 4th Quarter.
    2. 8th Graders with jobs from Ms. Hogue: She needs to tell me she's happy with your work by Friday, May 26. Later than that and it won't be shown in the promotion ceremony for the first time since I started having a major. THIS IS YOUR FINAL.
    3. Everyone else:
      1. This final should be completed using Google Slides. The content is more important than the technical issues. If you get stuck, ASK FOR HELP.
      2. The rubric below lists exactly what I’m looking for. For example, the first slide in your presentation NEEDS to include your name. That will be an embarrassing 20 points off if you forget it.
        • 20% 1st slide contains student's name.
        • 20% Slides 2-6 each contain ONE project (You can include up to one Series Video. Normally homework wouldn't count at all for this.) made in class that has earned an A. (In the case of video projects a screen captured image is acceptable, but you should also remember how to embed videos.)
        • 20% Slides 2-6 each contain ONE sentence explaining what the student liked about that project.
        • 20% Slides 2-6 each contain ONE sentence explaining what they would improve if they did the project over.
        • 20% Slide 7 includes whatever parting comments the student has for Mr. Smith. BE HONEST.
