Media Arts, 4/12

Warm-Up:

Look at your score for Monday's work in SchoolMax, and think about what you're going to tell your parents about that grade. Some of you have some good news to share. Some of you... don't.

Agenda:

  1. ELO
    1. Canceled until after PARCC testing.
  2. Reviewing Student Videos
    1. High score was 28/20. I am very proud of that person for following directions.
    2. Saying the same thing for multiple videos doesn't show that you cared enough to watch them.
    3. ANY answer that is generic enough to not prove you watched video is going to earn a zero.
      1. "I liked your topic for the video."
      2. "great video"
      3. "I liked your enthusiasm in the video."
      4. "Nice gameplay."
      5. "the audio needs improvement"
    4. Comments where you refuse to give an answer earn zeroes.
      1. i dont think he needs improvements
    5. Submitting a review faster than it takes to watch the video shows a lack of respect for the person who made that video.
      1. Anyone caught doing this for 3 videos earned a zero for cheating. I assumed at that point you hadn't watched any of them.
      2. Some of you did this for 5 videos before I stopped checking timestamps. You earned the grade you deserve.
  3. Series Video 11
    1. Grades & comments will be in before I go home today.
  4. Series Video 12
    1. Due Friday.
    2. I am aware that you will not be here on Friday,
  5. Storyboards
    1. Storyboard Storyboards will be graded soon, maybe as early as this Friday.
    2. Mixed Shots Storyboard project in Google Classroom.
      1. Rubric (25% each)
DIRECTIONS ► Tells the story of a FICTIONAL student who makes a bad decision and faces the consequences.  MINIMUM of 4 shot types used (not including title/credits), and NOTHING THAT COULD BE CALLED A LONG SHOT SHOULD BE USED. (You might need to research camera angles.)
PACING ► Plot moves smoothly from beginning to end. No long and/or repetitive scenes.
AUDIO ► Understandable dialogue, ambiance fits plot.
VIDEO ► Shots are chosen to best show the plot. Camera is steady and lighting is taken into account. (Not using enough camera angles can cost you points HERE, too.)
  6. Video Project
    1. Backed up to after Spring Break.
    2. Will be for any 4th Quarter storyboard where you've earned a 100.
    3. Rubric will be the same as the Storyboard. You can start early if you have a storyboard that earned a 100 and want something to do over break. (This is not mandatory, but I know some of you would like this.)
    4. If you HAVE NOT earned a 100 on a storyboard during 4th Quarter ... try harder.
